Free to Be Me

I finished making my first dress today.  I'm doing something I never thought I'd do...making my own clothes.  And I want to tell YOU today that it's ok to step out in faith and try something new.  And it's also ok to be a little unsure about it.  Just remember the Truth and Believe.  Give Him your fears and reservations and take His freedom in return.  The road may seem unclear, but His promises are true....  So true.

That is FABULOUS you are making your own clothes, challenging yourself and doing something far beyond your comfort zone. Good for you. Keep going and never stop chasing your dreams.

You made that dress?!?!? LOVE! It looks straight out of anthro. Beautiful pics as well. That tree makes me miss the willow in our yard growing up. Have a wonderful weekend! G

Thank you ladies :) It turned out ok for my first time, but I'm going to make some changes to the dress "pattern" and try it again soon!! I'm learning a lot as I go!

Oh my goodness - I just found your blog - 525,600 stitches is CRAZY impressive! I'm in awe and more than a little bit in envy (my last effort with a sewing machine ended with my 4yo asking me why I was making smoke at the other end of the dining table). I will be following your progress closely, hoping that at some point your successes will encourage me to try again (without the smoke this time).

All helpful hints as you go along gratefully received!

I want to make one of these for myself. I've made something similar for my eldest daughter but haven't been brave enough to make one for me.
I love the skirt fabric and the mustardy yellow belt.
Great job!
