Raising Up Love

I've been thinking (and talking with my favorite guy :) a lot lately about how we want our boys to grow up.  As a woman raising little men, I often times think of the traits that I looked for before I met my husband.  I don't think it's too early to teach our boys what it means to be gentlemen...I actually think it's VERY important!!  Sometimes the weight of their little lives is overwhelming, but I know that the best thing we can do is Live & Love & Teach them with our own lives.

We already enforce the rule:  "Ladies First"

My beautiful niece

And I want them to know that it's ok to love...it's actually pretty darn great!!

And hardwork.  Hardwork is important!

And then there's Reading & Dreaming & Imagination & Music.  There are so many things that I want our boys to know and hold onto.

I think I'm going to keep adding to this list and come back to it when I need reminders and encouragement.  For now I'm going to post what I have because it's on my heart right now and although it might not be finished...neither am I....  There's always more for Him to do in me and in my life and I'm so grateful that He doesn't leave me the same.

This is fantastic! I have two boys and I think about this a lot. I just won an audio book called "what kind of husband will your son grow up to be?" I can't wait to listen to it. Let me know if you want it when I'm done.
