Oh, Reality

Well...here it is!  I FINALLY finished it!!!  I'll just go ahead and post the pics and give you my feelings about it after :)

Please pardon my "end of a crazy day" hair and make-up (and grimace-haha!).  Oh and my photographer (husband) was unable to
take the pictures for this, so my mom had to step in :)  Photography may not be her specialty...hehe!!
It's ok she has MANY other talents!

Sepia makes everything look better, right?! :)

There's something you should know about me:  I'm a recovering perfectionist...!  I'm finding that this sewing challenge is teaching me about more than sewing.  I tend to go into things with unrealistically high expectations and sewing seems to be no exception.  My mom had to remind me more than once while sewing this shirt that this is my first attempt at sewing clothing!  Let's see what I've learned so far:

1.  I am not going to like the end product of all my "creations."

2.  I AM A BEGINNER!!

3.  Even if it doesn't turn out how I hoped, I am still learning from it.

4.  I can't make promises about when I'm going to get something finished for this challenge because life happens and it always ends up taking me longer than I thought/hoped.

5.  My mom is a wonderful sewing teacher!!

I'm excited to move on to my next sewing project...a skirt.  I'll let you know how it goes :)

I attempted a pair of pants earlier this summer. They were awful, but I was so discouraged. Then I remembered that it was the very first pair that I had made... It's all part of the process.

Happy to find your blog today. I'm attempting to sew most of my kid's clothes.
